Compassion Outreach Local Mission

Tuesday October 27th, friends from Legacy Church prepared meals for approximately 120 people at the Compassion Outreach Center in Ada, Ok. Your words and actions were testimonies to the many lives that were touched tonight.
Deuteronomy 15: 7-8 tells us that whenever we encounter a "poor man, one of your brothers, we should not harden our hearts, but you should open your arms wide to him and willingly lend him sufficient for his need, whatever he needs." The wise woman in Proverbs 31 "opens her hand to the poor, and reaches out her hands to the needy." I seen and observed these actions from my Legacy friends. Your gracious giving, your outstretched hands, and countless prayers touched the lives of many in our community. This open-hearted, open-handed giving can characterize your very next act of obedience and service. We actually become a channel of grace to others by being the hands and feet of Christ! Jesus' hands offered the most stirring example of open hands in human history. What a beautiful picture of His amazing goodness and grace! As we continue in 'being the church, the world will know the compassion of Christ by seeing the outstretched arms of His followers.

May God be glorified-

1st Annual Walk for Life

Saturday October 17th , 85 people gathered at the House of Hope and joined efforts to 'Celebrate Life.' The walk included a 2 mile stretch through Ada's business district. After weeks of rain and dreary weather, the Lord blessed us with a beautiful day without a cloud in the sky! The participants raised an estimated $5,000 for the ministry. The House of Hope will celebrate its 17th anniversary in 2010. Today's 'Walk for Life' event begins a new chapter in ministry. "For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because you are fearfully and wonderfully made." Psalm 139: 13-14
